Welcome “Huanying ni” to Confucius Institute

The popularity of Chinese language and culture has continued to grow globally following the increasing realization of the important role China continues to play in the world. Thus the establishment of Confucius Institute at Kenyatta University was a response to this trend. The Institute was established in December 2008 as a joint collaboration between Kenyatta University, Shandong Normal University, China and Confucius Institute Headquarters in Hanban, China.

Since its establishment in December 2008, the Confucius Institute at Kenyatta University has continued to grow and improve the quality of its Chinese language programmes; increase in the number of students learning Chinese; mounting market-driven programmes and linking up the graduates of the Institute with organizations interested in hiring employees proficient in the Chinese language. Over 1,526 students have this far completed various Chinese certificate courses at the Institute.
